On 24 and 25. October 2013 the final symposium of the BMBF-funded Project CarbonBlack takes place at the Research Center Borstel with involvement of the Leibniz Research Assiciation "NanoSafety" . The results from the CarbonBlack consortium will be presented alongside invited speakers like P: Gehr, G. Oberdörster and W. Kreyling. Focus of the Symposium are the effects of inhaled ultrafine and nanoparticles regarding exposure, deposition, nano-hazard &nano-safety as well as different testing systems.

In October we would like to present the special issue "Future Nanosafety" published in "Chemical Research in Toxicology".
In 17 articles operation procedures for future test methods, alternatives for animal testing, safe-by-design processes and detection methods of nanoparticles are presented.
