New DaNa Article " Nanomaterials in Waste"

New products containing nanomaterials are constantly being released to the market and used for diverse purposes. As a result, growing amounts of products containing nanomaterials enter the end-of-life phase of the lifecycle and are disposed. What is nanowaste and what actually happens to nanomaterials during the waste treatment processes? Are nanomaterials being released from their product matrix during disposal, combustion or recycling and if so, is there a risk for humans and the environment?

The recently published DaNa-article "Nanoparticles in waste" will answer these and other questions which can be found in our Cross-Cutting section.
