NanoSafety Cluster (NSC) Day @ NanoSAFE 2020

The EU NanoSafety Cluster maximises the synergies between European-level projects addressing the safety of materials and technologies enabled by the use of nanoforms. The studied aspects include toxicology, ecotoxicology, exposure assessment, mechanisms of interaction, risk assessment and standardisation.

9:00 - 10:30 h Block 1 - Emerging experimental approaches in hazard and exposure assessment

- Session 1: Hazard assessment (human health & environmental) with focus on new developments in AOPs & IATA

- Session 2: Exposure assessment (determination & modeling)

10:30 - 10:40 h Virtual coffee, tea & sweets break

10:40 - 12: 30 h Block 2 – Data workshop & E-tools for nano and beyond

- Session 3: Data FAIRness (hands-on, how to) & metadata completeness, scientific quality assurance

- Session 4: Spectrum of tools for data generation, processing, evaluation, prediction

14:45 – 16:45 h (incl 5 min break @ around 15:45 h) Block 3 - Society involvement in nanorisk governance & SbD concepts - Fit for translation to sustainable development?

- Session 5: Discussing features of nanoRGFs in development & current state of NRGC proposals (links to industry, regulators, society)

- Session 6: Elaborating/summarizing on what remains from all that for SbD/sustainable development

For each of the sessions above we invite representatives to give their views, presenting their contributions, advertising their products/gains to the entire process, explaining how the tools fit into the wider strategy and what remains after the project has finished, where to find further info, get the things applied in user hands.
